Artificial Intelligence Policy

1.     Main Principle: Authors Bear Full Responsibility

AI Is Not an Author (Non-Authorship): Generative AI tools (such as ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, etc.) do not meet the criteria for authorship and must not be listed as authors or co-authors. AI does not have the legal or academic capacity to take responsibility for the content of a manuscript, copyright approval, or conflicts of interest.

Academic Responsibility: Authors bear full responsibility for the factual accuracy, citation accuracy, plagiarism prevention, and freedom from bias or fabrication of data that may result from the use of AI tools.

 

2.     Permitted Uses of AI

AI may be used as a supporting tool within the following limitations:

Language Editing & Stylistic Enhancement: Improving grammar, sentence clarity, and translating an initial draft.

Brainstorming & Idea Structuring: Assisting in organizing the structure of a manuscript during the early stages of research.

Design of Images/Tables/Graphs: Assisting in creating images, tables, graphs, or similar visual elements, provided that such use does not involve data manipulation.

 

3.     Prohibited Uses of AI

The use of AI in the following circumstances is considered a violation of academic integrity:

Generation of Main Text & Key Ideas: Using AI to fully generate the substantive content of an article, primary data analysis, or core scientific arguments.

Manipulation of Images/Visual Data: Using AI tools to create, alter, or manipulate scientific images (such as graphs, microscopic photographs, or field photographs) in ways that may obscure, distort, or falsify the original data.

Generation of False References: Using fictional or fabricated citations/references generated by AI.

 

4.     Declaration and Transparency Requirements

Authors are required to attach an AI Use Declaration Statement to the “Statement of Compliance with Publication Procedures” as provided in the article template during manuscript submission.

 

5.     AI Policy for Editors & Reviewers

Data Confidentiality: Reviewers and Editors are strictly prohibited from uploading manuscripts under review to public AI tools. Such use may violate copyright, the confidentiality of research ideas, and the privacy of authors.

Human Evaluation: Critical assessment and decisions regarding the acceptance or rejection of manuscripts must be carried out by qualified human experts (peer reviewers and editors), rather than by AI-based evaluation systems.

 

6.     Sanctions for Violations

If violations involving the misuse of AI are identified, such as data fabrication or undisclosed plagiarism resulting from the use of AI, the Journal reserves the right to:

Request a major revision before the review process continues.

Conduct an immediate Desk Rejection.

Carry out Retraction (Article Withdrawal) or mark the manuscript with [UNPUBLISH] if the article has already been published.
